you do not have to be skinny to view this blog, the title is for coolness only

i am a seventeen year old girl living in melbourne. i go to a rare school that allows me to do three fashion subjects which is mad cool. i do my best to make the most of every moment and try to push myself outside of my comfort zone, gosh i hate that word. screw smoking and sleeping around, i don't want the clap or tuberculosis. i am happy with my health, my friends, my fam, cat and tidy light blue bedroom with roses and leather on the walls. i admire russell brand's charisma, justin bieber's voice, t-pain in general and my cat bok choy for being so flexible that he can lick his own privates. oh and my name's karista

My attempt to achieve the Prada hair

Today I stayed home from school because I woke up two hours late, oops!.. too bad. So what did I do? First came the cleansing of the face and hands. I applied my new favourite cosmetique!.. Natio Camouflage Tinted Spot Cream. After that came a thick application of my new Ruby Red Lipstick, it makes me happy. Then, for some more cream, I ate a Magnum Mini ice-cream (yes, for breakfast). But then out of guilt I digested a Lady Finger banana (a healthy choice). Homeworking (folio) lasted a good hour and a half, slow and steady.  I soon became bored of having glue all up in ma fingertips with pieces of fluff and hair always sticking to them, grrr... I find that incredibly frustrating and vulgar.

And so, out of that boredom and frustration, I went to the mirror and started to play with my hair. And in conclusion, this is the result. I felt like a real Prada model, I wish.

I used Photo Booth on my macbook so it's not the greatest of quality but you get the idea.
And here are the real Prada models:

I've decided I'm going to wear my hair like this more often. So simple, yet no one I know does this style. It's different, cute and I'm really loving it.

An outfit that received numerous compliments...

I kind of threw it altogether in a hurry. First time wearing the leggings (mm roses, oh and they were 10 dorrah from kmart), my brothers big jumper (borrowed), my mother's headband (also borrowed), shoes... smell funky, so I never wear them but I had to cos I would punch myself in the face if I wore my boring black Havaianas again for the 10th day in a row... horrible things they are.

I felt as if my outfit today (or should I say yesterday as it is now past 12) was too colour co-ordinated and balanced for my liking. It worked too perfectly, but besides that it's a cute and comfortable one.
I also wore bright red lippy today which IS MY NEW LOVE! it had come off through the day so I'm hardly wearing any in this picture, but youuu knoww.

Anyway, so after much admiration from some kind people I decided that I should capture it with my handy digi cam (like my abbreviation? huh? huh?;) and post it on my blawwg. So I got a friend to take some pics and one of them was alright so here it is. Not my best ootfit, quite simple yet sweet.. and sassy. haha no, not really sassy... just wanted to say that great word!
oh and yeah, the socks are wrong too but oh well, should probably be grey... pfff

Speechless, Astounded, Inspired

Gaga has done it again. I love her work!
here's the link below!

and some screen captures of the incredible video:

Some of it is a little M rated but I guess that's what we've come to expect with Gaga.
I dislike the explicitness but everything else is genius.
Best of her work yet, I think.

A Recap of my Life of Late

My apology followers, I did say I would post a few while I was away and I did nawwt... but I'm sure you weren't too disappointed in me. I had a lovely time, some parts were a little emotional (as expected), but most of it was a lot of fun. I met some more family and that was really cool. I also did a photo shoot for my Year 12 Art Photography folio while I was there. My theme is called Fluorescent Adolescent, named after the Arctic Monkeys song. My idea was to capture some underwater shots of a girl with long flowing hair wearing a pretty dress that would also flow beautifully etc. Initially, I was planning to do it here in Melbourne using a friend from school but it worked out so perfectly there that I just had to. My gorgeous cousin Daniella who I met there had an underwater digital camera, awesome!.. also the house I was staying at had a great pool, sick! + Daniella is so so pretty and her hair is unbelievably long and lovely (down to her butt), perfect for the look that I was imagining to achieve! But wait, it doesn't stop there... there was also a fantastic (I rarely say that word) op shop just up the road where we could buy all the clothes! (as I was unprepared and had nothing for her to wear) our aim was fluro and flowy. Anyway, everything worked out so well, as if it was planned by God!.. I actually think it was, just too perfect to be a coincidence.

The photos came out fairly brilliant, better than I expected. So a massive thank you to Daniella... and God! haha. These are just a few of them, I took over 300 so I've had to narrow it down to 60 for zee folio, even that's too many but pff who can choose!? really.

Yeah.
So I can't wait to show my photography teacher, I hope he's positively surprised. Anyway so enough about that. Hopefully soon I won't just be posting apologies for not posting, but finally dishing out my knowledge, opinions and so on about fashion week looks and all that.
Please contact me with any questions or even just feedback or ideas, cos I love getting them! They're are often challenging and it's just nice to receive feedback. Hope all 7 of you followers have a great week!
xx, Karista
